Environmental Biotechnology

Gujarat Biotechnology University offers a 2-year full-time MSc Programme that provides the knowledge and skills to develop products to aid in securing the environment for future generations. Students taking this course will be exposed to a suite of techniques and research-led teaching that will provide a robust foundation in applying their knowledge to help combat challenges such as pollution, ecological integrity, and the impacts of climate change.

• Soil, air and water resource management and remediation; carbon storage in soil
• Biodiversity and conservation strategies
• Biological solutions to urban life; avoidance, re- and upcycling of urban waste
• Organic and low input systems, sustainability of food production
• Principles of the circular economy and sustainable product design
• Community-based environmental sustainability
• Strategies against anti-microbial resistance (AMR) and zoonotic diseases

• There will be an opportunity for student placements at the University of Edinburgh during the programme

Students graduating from the programme will find employment opportunities within a variety of industries both national and international. They will also possess the skills to develop their own business ideas or continue into further university-based research settings.
